ESCO's NoFlush mix head incorporates the low pressure dynamic mixing concept, but eliminates the need for solvent
flush.
The NoFlush mix head is a tight tolerance, precision built low pressure dynamic mixer, capable of mixing up to six components efficiently without the need for solvent flushing. It incorporates a high speed servo motor to drive the impeller which is moveable via a pneumatic cylinder incorporated into the mix head body. After a pour is completed, the motor speed is increased to 15000rpm, with the centrifugal force generated throwing solids off the impeller. The pneumatic cylinder then advances coming in contact wtih the mixer sleeve and housing, displacing and burning excess material. The impeller advancement effectively pumps the solids out of the head.
No flushing is required of any components within the NoFlush mix head including the valve system. Material is normally metered into the head via a pneumatically operated plunger valve, which uses an orifice and plunger combination that are ground and hand lapped for extremely close mating, creating an effective self-cleaning orifice and preventing any form of cross contamination.
