- The mix head is complete with two 3-way recirculation valves for the polyol and isocyanate streams and a
jacketed impeller housing.
- Automatic selection of up to 4 color streams is available.
- The mixer speed, impeller plunge and timing sequences
are all controlled by a PLC.
- An operator interface terminal allows entry of parameters and up to 6 different shot
times.
- The typical pour sequence is as follows: Mixer motor starts; Recirculation valves are energized; Mold is
filled; Recirculation valves return to recirculation mode; Mixer motor increases to 15,000 RPM and centrifugal
force throws solids off the impeller; Impeller plunges forward a few thousandths of an inch to effectively 'pump'
these solids out of the head; Impeller returns to home position; Mixer motor stops.
- The clean out sequence is accomplished
in less than 5 seconds and is repeated whenever the chemical systems start to build up on the impeller.
