Filled Systems
Today’s demanding and ever-changing world of polyurethane chemistry presents unique challenges to processing. There
are many chemical systems that contain fillers that require the use of specialized processing equipment; most fillers
are abrasive and cannot be processed using equipment not specifically designed for the application. ESCO
offers patented solutions to process difficult filled systems. Specifically, ESCO’s patented Filler Fed Head
(FFH) allows for the addition of solid fillers directly at the mix head, which eliminates the need for pre-mixing
and agitation to keep fillers in suspension. ESCO has had the privilege of designing equipment that meters
and mixes a chemical system that is used in the construction of Navy vessels for the US Government. ESCO
has been recognized by the contractors to the US Government as the industry leader in technology to meter and mix
difficult chemical systems. Let ESCO solve your challenges in mix filled chemical systems.

High Pressure
ESCO carries a line of high-pressure impingement mixing equipment and has designed manufacturing systems for the global automotive,
electrical, appliance, and the construction industries. ESCO will listen to your manufacturing requirements
and offer a solution combining your company’s product experience with the knowledge and experience of ESCO. Unlike
what one might think, high pressure does not mean material dispensed at a high pressure; rather, high pressure
metering and mixing refers to the method of mixing which requires the chemicals to be impinged together at high
pressure. The impingement dissipates the pressure and the material flows out of the mix head at relatively
low pressure. The impingement mix head is self-cleaning and requires no solvent flushing. ESCO high-pressure
laboratory machines are currently in use in the labs of most polyurethane chemical suppliers. Together we
can compete globally by producing products with technologically advanced equipment, using the most cost-effective
methods.

Low Pressure
ESCO’s success in low pressure metering and dispensing can be attributed to mix head design and technology. Martin
Sweets Company was the first producer of polyurethane processing equipment in the US. Since joining with
Edge in 1985, ESCO has emerged as one of the leading suppliers of low-pressure dynamic mix heads for the polyurethane
industry. When you look at an ESCO mix head, you know it has been manufactured to quality specifications. Our
engineering staff has paid close attention in designing a mix head built to last and easy to maintain. The
dynamic mix head offerings include mix heads that process low temperature systems as well as high temperature cast
elastomer systems. Let ESCO work with you to produce the best processing solution for your manufacturing
needs.

No Flush
In today’s environmentally correct society, the use of solvents to clean a mix head can be viewed as a deterrent
in some processes. ESCO has developed a solventless low-pressure dynamic mix head. Since some chemical
systems cannot be mixed properly with a solvent less high pressure impingement mix head, ESCO’s low pressure solvent
less mix head may be the answer for your processing application. Let ESCO work with you to determine if the
solvent less dynamic mix head is right for your process application.
