Convoluter / Roll Splitter


ESCO offers both a standard convoluter/roll splitter and a heavy duty version.

The Model C-RSS convoluter / roll splitter is a rugged unit designed to split flexible and rigid products where thin sheets from slab material are required. We have incorporated a specially designed quick change feature which makes the changeover from one style of convoluting pattern to another (or to roll stock splitting) simple, minimizing loss of production time.


Roll Assembly


  • Cast aluminum ring design allows multiple patterns to be set up across the width of the convoluter.
  • The roll drive is a 5HP, controlled by an AC frequency drive with digital speed readout.
  • Convoluter roll assembly includes keyed shaft with 7.625" (200mm) diameter rings.

Table


  • In-feed table is 48" (1219mm) deep x cutting width. Height from floor is adjustable from 33" (838mm) to 36" (914mm).
  • A standard manual positioned lockable guide fence can be ordered for either the right or left sides.

Blades - Blade Motor - Guide - Sharpener


  • A double bevel band knife with a width of 1.5" (38mm) and a thickness 0.032" (0.8mm) is standard.
  • Blade wheels are 16" (406mm) diameter and precision balanced.
  • Blade motor is 10 HP, controlled by an AC frequency drive with digital speed readout.
  • Standard blade sharpener is equipped with long life "Borazon™" grinding wheels and is air positioned.
  • Wedge guide has a replaceable wear guide and adjustable carbide blade backers.
  • Hand wheels adjust both the upper and lower shafts.

Controls and Power Requirement


  • Operator controls are mounted in main electrical cabinet.
  • Available electrics are 460v 3ph 60hz, 230v 3ph 60hz, or 208v 3ph 60hz. Other electrics are available.

Safety Package


Includes operator guards, warning decals blade break switch, main panel disconnect with lock out, blade running warning light, main panel emergency stop button, in feed emergency stop switch, and discharge area emergency stop switch.


Optional Features


  • Digital roll adjustment readout.
  • Additional right or left in feed guide fence.
  • Roll stock splitter rolls, knurled 6" (152mm).
